Picked up by Selkirk Fisherman Jr. B. (older brother on team) to compete in western Canadian Finals in Medicine Hat. Youngest player on team at 16 at the time. Team lost in bronze medal game. Adam had 6 pts. In 5 games. Currently taking regular shift with Selkirk Steelers, of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with 05-06 season just getting underway. Adam went to camp with Flin Flon of the SJHL and then was traded as a 17 year old along with future considerations by the team that held his MJHL rights to Selkirk for a 19 year old.

Statistics/Skills:

03-04: 34 G 19A 53 pts 82 pm 40 gp 04-05: 19 G 37A 56 pts 26 pm 40 gp

05-06: Rookie yr. with Steelers- 8G 11A 19pts (10th on team). 1GW, 3 PP, 42PIM, 48GP -check his game by game stats at the Selkirk Steeler website.

Coaches like his approach to the game and his effort. Loewen, his current coach says he’s a “battler”, working hard at both ends. Plays a physical game. “Has a nose for the net” at the right times., a gift, something you just can’t teach, says Loewen. Definitely has university potential.

Petrash, Steeler manager, comments on his size and strength saying these were the reasons the team traded for him along with his puck skills and good view of the ice. Al Hare say he plays with an edge, he’s gritty, but a smart player who can put the puck in the net. Scored well for us in western Canadian Jr. B’s he said last year when we picked him up. 5pts in 6 games. Pollock says he has a nose for the puck, great hands for a big guy, never scared of traffic. Sees the ice well. Skating keeps improving.
