The last play of the first half between the Stamps and Lions featured a pass to (Clermont?) who then avoiding a tackle punted the ball down field. The ball rolled towards the Calgary endzone where a Calgary player and a BC player fell uopn it at the 2 yard line. The Calgary player touched it, and the ball squirted into the endzone. The BC player was flagged for no yards. Calgary recovered the ball in the endzone and did not return it.
Calgary declined the penalty. The play was video reviewed. The call on the field stood. No points were awarded on the play.
Discussing it with Rammer, Rammer felt that the Lions deserved a single on the play, I felt that the Lions deserved a safety on the play.
I looked up the rule book at cfl.ca.

We wondered if perhaps the Stamps needed to establish full possession rather than just touching the ball as they did at the 2 yard line.

Sounds like the Lions should have had a safety. Were the officials asleep? Were they so busy with the penalty call and video review that they just plum forgot about the points? What gives?
