Hebert Granted Border Entry

The guy who didn’t want to play here, now wants to play here, and he’ll soon be here.

Lookout Als.

Quote:
Bombers’ Hebert granted border entry

The much publicized Kyries Hebert saga has taken a favourable turn.

Sportsnet’s Football Insider Eric Tillman reports the talented defender was granted permission to enter Canada via the Los Angeles Canadian consulate and flew into Winnipeg via California late Saturday night.

Just months earlier he had signed a very lucrative five-year deal with Ottawa, which would have made him one of the CFL’s highest paid players.

The compromise deal, however, took a surprising turn last week when Hebert, whose charges had been reduced from felonies to misdemeanors, was denied entry into the country by Immigration Canada.

After a week of gathering letters of support, the Bombers appealed the denial and their request was approved Saturday in Los Angeles.

Hebert, who passed a physical in Winnipeg Sunday, is expected to be in uniform when the club hosts the Montreal Alouettes next weekend.

7-7-7

7-7-7 equals the margin of defeat in each Argo loss this season. This while starting Spergeon Wynn at QB and missing our best defensive player.

Looking at it really adds perspective to all the Argo bandwagoneers who are jumping ship at this time … and also to all "other teams" fans who think DA would have made no impact on the Argo season.

Can’t do anything about other fans … but the bandwagoneers should not focus on the negative and pull together! Wink

OC problems with Cats and Argos

Big problem in Hamilton, if they fire Marshall, the guy who’s causing the problems on offence, Paopao becomes Head Coach. Disaster to make Paopao HC. If he can’t run the offence, he can’t run the team.

Isn’t his offence and Austin’s pretty much the same? Both fizzle, offencive schemes are flat.

Argos have great talent, can’t do anything with it on offence.

Cats have great talent, can’t do anything with it on offfence.

Time for changes.

WEEK 4 OVERALL LEAGUE AVERAGE @26594(26373 in 05)

After four weeks the league average attendance is virtually identical to last year.

As for some interesting team numbers, we knew how the second poor crowd in Regina was coming, this despite the Saturday night game. Again folks, what possible excuses could now be evident. Looked like a perfect night for football and with Hank coming in again, one would think a near sellout should have occurred.

Toronto’s numbers are down and that is troubling especially since the signing of RW was suppose to bring in more?

WEEK 4

game/(year ave.) 05 game/(yr ave)

Montreal 20,202 (20,202) 20,202 (20,202)

Edmonton 35,035 (37,763) 37,455 (37,184)

Toronto 26,304 (26,997) 26,218 (28,465)

Sask 23,942 (22,412) 23,421 (23,244)

League Ave.06/ 15 games 26,594 05/ 16 games 26,373

Top 5 Crowds:

Edmonton(Cal) 40,491

Edmonton(BC)) 35,035

BC (Tor) 30,514

Calgary (Ham) 29,396

Hamilton(Mon) 27,911

Worst 5 Crowds:

Note, excluding Montreal due to continuous sellout and small stadium.

Sask (BC) 21,082

Winnipeg(Edm) 23,521

Sask (Cal) 23,942

Calgary(Edm) 25,895

Toronto(Win) 26,304

Blue rock the Argos (Slam! Sports)

TORONTO — The blood-stained bandage on Matt Sheridan’s nose was symbolic of what the Winnipeg Blue Bombers had just done. It wasn’t exactly pretty but it allows the healing process to continue.

Esks defence still in need of work

Congratulations Calgary

You really hammered us tonight. I thought our offence was good but our defence sucked the pouch. Our defensive special teams sucked as well.

I think Calgary started out 4-6 in 2005, so, IMO opinion, not time to push any big red buttons yet. The Calgary offence looked sharp today though.

Bring on BC next week!
