Just finished watching the Bombers get crushed 44-16 by the Alouettes tonight and, let me say, it was more than just ugly.
It was gruesome.
The Bombers are now ravaged by injuries along the O-line and didn’t react well to the officiating and the Alouettes running up the score. Now comes a huge test this week in Edmonton against the Grey Cup champions in a test of their resiliency and character.
Feel free to fire off your thoughts with a post here, but here’s what I did not like:
-The Bombers were outscored 28-1 in the second half as the offence coughed and sputtered behind an O-line missing Dan Goodspeed and Matt Sheridan. The ground game was ineffective and the passing game a non factor.
-The return game is atrocious. Albert Johnson III still shows flashes, but his fumble in the second half killed any chance of a Bomber comeback.
-The fixation on the refereeing - yes, it seemed one-sided - is not reflective of a championship-calibre team. Easy for us to say, but the teams that have been there, done that before always shake off a poor call better than the Bombers did.
Those are my initial thoughts, more coming in the next few days…l
