| First faces worst in a West Division clash on Friday night as the B.C. Lions (4-3) play host to the Edmonton Eskimos (2-4).
It is the second of three meetings this season between these rivals. The Eskimos won a Week 4 encounter at home by a 27-20 count. EdmontonÂ’s Ricky Ray completed 21 of 29 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns while B.C.Â’s Dave Dickenson struggled, completing 20 of 37 passes for 233 yards and one TD. Both entered Week 8 as the top two passers in the CFL. After falling out of first place in the West, the Lions have won two straight games, both on the road, to regain top spot. Edmonton has lost two straight since their win against B.C. The Eskimos did not face Lions running back Joe Smith in their last encounter. Smith has started just two games at running back for the Lions, having scored six touchdowns in his last two games. Smith is tied for the team lead in TDs with receiver Geroy Simon. |
No need for a weather update in BC.
Under the dome all is good.

| We need to get a win and we need to get one this week," said Esks receiver Ed Hervey, an undisputed locker-room leader.
"We need to position ourselves to get back into contention and with our next five opponents being Western opponents (B.C. twice, Saskatchewan once and Calgary twice), I think this stretch for us is very important, although we have to take them one game at a time." |
