Revenge in the ‘Peg
After the Labour Day loss, it was crucial for us to win the Banjo Bowl. Prior to the game we had lost four straight at home. I’m sure you guys were begining to question us and we might have been questioning ourselves.
Words can’t explain how good it felt to come out victorious against our rivals with 30,000+ fans cheering us on. The energy on the field was more intense than I’ve felt since I’ve been up here.
So I’d like to dedicate this blog post to you, the fans of Winnipeg. You guys are awesome and we couldn’t have won without you.
This week is what is known as a short week, meaning we play two games within seven days.
ÂÂ
It’s a little hard on the mind, and even harder on the body. There wasn’t a lot of time this week for extra-cirricular activities.

But there is alway time for the the media. This week the locker room has been filled with TV and newspaper reporters, happy to spread the good news of our win last weekend. It’s kind our strange at first, having male and female reporters interviewing us half naked heading into the shower, but we get accustomed to it with time. By the way, it’s the players that are half-naked, not the reporters.
The media’s presence in the locker room is embarassing for most us at first — some more than others — but it is kind of entertaining to watch after practice.
ÂÂ
In my experience most all the media in Winnipeg that I’ve dealt with seem to be a good bunch of folks. Thought I’d share a bit of what it looks like around Bomberland when their cameras and the tape recorders come out.
