A WIN IS A WIN
OK is was not pretty, it was not fancy, and it may have even been boring… but the final scored said we won, RIGHT?
Well, all I keep hearing is: “You guys won, but look at the team you beat and the circumstances for which you beat them. “
It was not our decision for them to sit down their starting quarterback. The fact they were missing some key starters because of injury was not our fault either. And finally, I guess it’s safe to say that some critics consider the boys from Steeltown the worst team in the league.
And because of all these circumstances, I guess everyone thought we should have beat them as if we were playing Simon Fraser (that’s for all the Simon Fraser alumnus on our team).
In professional sports, one must realize that the moment that first second ticks off the clock, the teams’ records have no bearing on the game, and understand that the opposing team is not going to put anyone on the field that they don’t believe gives them a chance of winning.
So with all that being said, hopefully everyone is just happy we won, because I’ve heard some people say after a loss that you guys lost, but it was a pretty loss. So is it better to have an ugly victory or a pretty loss?
Talk to you soon and thanks for the support.
God bless
Milt Stegall
