Folks, I’m going to be perfectly honest here: I truly expected to be in Montreal or Toronto on Nov. 5th to cover the Bombers in the East Semifinal. And that still might be the case.
But the Bombers showed me something tonight. They’re back in the fight for a home playoff date courtesy an impressive win over the Calgary Stampeders that reminded me of the dominant side we saw back in June and July.
The defence is still this team’s backbone, but a healthy offensive line, a return to the error-free work of Kevin Glenn, a receiving corps that has found another weapon in Derick Armstrong and the always-deadly Charles Roberts means the Bombers could be a scary force in the playoffs.
Besides, if you saw the way the Argos and Alouettes looked in home losses this weekend  Yuck  it’s safe to say there is no clear front-runner in the East.
All of which, as this post’s title suggests, shouldn’t surprise anyone. It’s been that kind of year in Bomberland and I get the feeling the ride is far from over  buckle up your seatbelts, too, because this squad is tougher to read than Latin.
Your thoughts on tonight’s game? Please, post them here…
Cheers
