why are teams wearing thrid jersies instead of away ones?

it stuck me in the semi final as well, I’m not totally agaist it, but IMO, thrids (and home jeries, Toronto, I’m talking to you! bad move in hamilton in the LDC!) should only be wone at home, or if a team has home advatage in the Grey Cup, not when they are visiting, it’s just tradision. I really really hope they don’t let the away team dress in their thrids in the Grey Cup.

Honouring Jackie Parker

Ol’ Spaghetti Legs was in his prime when my days of following the Blue Bombers began.  One of the CFL’s best ever.  Here’s to you Jackie (as we knew you).

CANOE — SLAM! Sports - CFL - CFL News: CFL loses a legend

CFL loses a legend
Hall of Famer Parker dies

Edmonton Eskimos legend Jackie Parker, seen here with quarterback Ricky Ray in 2002, died Tuesday at the age of 74. (Edmonton Sun File/Perry Mah)

EDMONTON (CP) - He became one of the greatest CFL players of all time, but Jackie Parker didn’t impress his teammates much when he first walked into the dressing room.

“The kid from Mississippi with the big ears and the big feet,” Alberta Lt.-Gov. Norman Kwong recalled Tuesday after Parker’s death at age 74 from throat cancer.

In 1954, Kwong was known as the China Clipper, a star running back with the feared Edmonton Eskimos.

“(Parker) wasn’t very imposing when we first met - really skinny legs. But he could really run and do everything else. He made an impression on us the very first time he took the field. It was a big surprise when we saw him perform.”

CFL Legend Jackie Parker passes

Sad a sad day for the CFL.

Rest in Peace Ol’ Spaghetti Legs….. Sad

Quote:
Eskimos mourn passing of legend Jackie Parker

Edmonton Eskimo legend, Jackie Parker, passed away early this morning at an Edmonton hospital. Eskimo CEO Hugh Campbell says, “The city has lost a great citizen. The Eskimo family mourns the loss of Jack and our thoughts are with Jack’s immediate family.”

Jackie ParkerÂ’s football career started at Mississippi State where he played quarterback and halfback and was named to the All-Conference and College Football All-America Teams. He scored 120 points in 1953 to become the leading scorer in U.S. college football.

The Fast Freight from Mississippi State or Ole Spaghetti Legs joined the Eskimos in 1954 and became a football legend over the next 13 years. He starred on both sides of the ball as a quarterback, halfback and defensive back for the Edmonton Eskimos from 1954 to 1962, the Toronto Argonauts from 1963 to 1965 and the B.C. Lions from 1966 to 1968. He played on three Grey Cup winners with Edmonton, won the Schenley as the CFL’s top player three times and was an All-Star for eight straight years. He passed for 16,476 yards and scored 88 touchdowns, kicked 103 converts, 40 field goals and 19 singles for 750 points. His dramatic 84- yard fumble return touchdown run in the 1954 Grey Cup remains one of pro sports most memorable plays.
