IMHO the CFL could be unstable and in trouble
With only 8 teams left, I feel Hamilton will see a drop in fans this season after suffering from a bad year and seasons tickets come up for renewal. Argos have taken a bit of hit in attendance and the league is over spending more than ever. Williams wasn’t cheap and will BC, Toronto, Mtl, Edmonton be able to continue to afford the players they have been bringing in?
06 was the year the CFL should have been the strongest both in team strength and fan base for the remaining teams. Instead, Hamilton and Edmonton both saw very bad years. I don’t think the fan base is stronger than it has been in previous years, even taking into consideration that Ottawa is missing from the equation. I also noticed that fans from teams other than Ottawa were also missing. If another team should struggle this year, where does that leave the CFL? Can they afford another struggling team, especially with Ottawa still out for 07?
