Friday’s sports shorts (Escanaba Daily Press)

HERMANSVILLE — Pete Pericolosi spent the winter coaching a young Menominee High School basketball team into the Class B regional finals. Thursday he had a chance to play basketball as the 69th Gold Medal Classic tipped off, and he showed the young guys he knows the game from that standpoint as well.
