Opinion: Going green pays off for Riverwood (The Morning Sun)

As Dick Figg walked past an open door, he reached out and shut it. “That’s a piece of wood,” he said. The lights in Riverwood Resort, the bowling alley and golf course, were mostly off, and in the dim light of the concourse, Figg finished describing how shutting that door saved him a piece of wood.

    COVINGTON, Ga. (AP) - Former Oklahoma State golfer Charles Howell III has signed a 3-year deal with Bridgestone Golf after a long run with Callaway. Howell says he’s making the switch in equipment in part on the opinion of fellow PGA golfer Nick Price.

    Charles Howell III has struck a deal to play Bridgestone equipment, according to sources familiar with the negotiations. They say a multiyear deal is expected to be announced Dec. 6 that would have Howell play a Bridgestone ball and clubs.
