Golf season to start, over Beverly mayor’s objection (The Salem News)

BEVERLY and mdash; The golf season is scheduled to begin today at the Beverly Golf and amp; Tennis Club and mdash; whether the mayor likes it or not. Douglas Johnson, the manager of the city-owned club, said he will allow golfers on the course starting today, even though Mayor Bill Scanlon says it’s not supposed to open until April 1.
