Eastport Golf Club sold, may reopen (The Myrtle Beach Sun News)

Eastport Golf Club in Little River has been sold to new owners who intend to reopen the course this year, according to Mel Graham, who has owned the course for more than a decade. Graham confirmed in an e-mail that he sold the course to The Valley at Eastport, LLC, and Frankie Vereen of Longs is listed in state documents as the company’s registered agent.     Bagpipes echoed through Rochester’s west side Thursday afternoon as local leaders and community members paid tribute to law enforcement officers. A memorial outside the Rochester Police Locust Club on Lexington Avenue was dedicated to those officers who died in the line of duty.

    Fire destroyed a Webster home Thursday evening. It happened around 6 o’clock D’angelo Drive. Black smoke could be seen from several blocks away. It took fire crews from Webster, West Webster and Union Hill nearly an hour to extinguish the flames. Officials say no one was home when the fire started.
