    A well-known name on the Erie Canal and Genesee River is set to relaunch Monday. The 77-year-old Mary Jemison first launched on the Genesee River back in 2005. More than a year ago it was discovered extensive work was needed on the popular boat to keep it afloat.

    They dressed in raincoats and carried umbrellas to the Lilac Festival Sunday, in spite of the weather. The 10-day event wrapped up Sunday. There was music, food, and plenty of lilacs to take in. With the success of this year’s festival, event organizers are already looking forward to next year.
