    The irony in George Nichols’ life is rich. He spent much of his professional life running companies making golf shoes and golf clubs. His back porch has an almost idyllic view of a golf course and he spends much of what he almost jokingly refers to as his retirement chairing a committee that runs a markedly successful fund-raising golf tournament for the NOAH Project and Hendrick Hospice Care.
