The economic slowdown and spiking fuel costs are hurting some segments, but liquor proves fairly recession resistant, even as prices go up

    The second annual B.A. Open golf tournament and dinner auction will be held Thursday at Grand Island’s Beaver Island Golf Course. The tournament is a four-person scramble with a 10:30 a.m. registration. Golfers report to their carts at 11:45 a.m. for a noon shotgun start. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.
