My lady friend/lover said, "what a perfect title" ...about how couples need to approach the major issues that arise from time to time in their relationship. I had just told her that this book-I Love You, Let's Work It Out by David Viscott had just sold from my library at the ever growing Redeux Products online store. Search our inventory for this and other relationship books here.

We too have had our share of difficulties, and we are learning a bit along the way how to keep ourselves together. It starts with feeling like you were meant for each other and remembering the big love (and passion) that was easily acknowledged between you two, we believe. It also starts, we believe, with accepting the commitment you made earlier and taking responsibility for what it entails.
I see Viscott saying much the same thing as I page through the book quickly before it goes out the door to help another couple hopefully.

He quotes Shakespeare the flyleaf, "He love not who does not show his love". I liked the Happiest Couples short poem that ends the book.
"The Happiest Couples share a unique view of the world.
The happiest couples are partners in a destiny they create together
No one is bound to be what the other cannot achieve
Each is his own person and free
The present is without debts.
The moment is without fear
The answer is I love you.
The question is unimportant"

Viscott also devotes a large chapter to sexual relations. He says in another way what I know from experience and in my layman ways have suggested couples give equal or even greater effort and focus to as well as all the other things that need atttention.

Viscott, "It has often been said when sex is bad it is a very large part of a relationship and when sex is good it is a very small part." I suggest that the effort and time spent is as important as the end results. Viscott suggests couples could prepare a lovemaking-sexual relations manual. I think this could be part of their relationship notebook or folder, which most definitely has to have pictures of the happiest most loving times.
The sex relations manual would include the couples thoughts and feelings on the following, he says
1. Our Erogenous Zones-the map of love
2. What Excites Me..You
3 How our feeling of romance help our sexual relations and what are they
4. What turns us off?
5. Planning spontaneity
6. How I need you to love me
7. Sharing fantasies-and acting on them
8. How should we experiment and continually grow our sexual relations/lovemaking.

So plan your spontaneity and plan to talk and write.
Are these the seven most powerful words for people in a relationship? "I Love You...Let's Work it Out" If not, what is? Comments?
Have a great day!

Fat Loss For Dummies or Idiots.. Is there such a thing?

Fat loss is one of those things that sounds easier than it really
is.

After all, if you just eat less calories than you burn, you'll
lose fat, right?

Not necessarily. You could be burning muscle, which will turn you
into a weak blob of quivering fat if you stay on that diet long
enough.

And even if you do burn fat, does that mean you have to be hungry
all the time?

There is a TON of disinformation out there. One person says to
follow a low carb diet, another says to follow a low fat diet,
and someone else says low calorie is definitely the way to go.

Who knows?

Here's what the Fat Loss For Idiots folks say:.

Here are the facts...

Low Fat Diets DO NOT Work...

People have been on low fat diets for two decades, yet there are
more overweight people than ever before.

What many folks don't seem to realize is that your body NEEDS
certain fats to function properly, and even to LOSE weight.

That's right... you will lose weight, and lose MORE of it, if you
are eating the right amount of certain fats.

So FORGET low fat diets, they simply DO NOT WORK.

Low Calorie Diets DO NOT Work...

This is hard for most people to swallow, but the fact is, eating
too few calories is the WORST thing you can do to your body.

Starving yourself SLOWS DOWN fat burning.

So while you may lose a few pounds initially, you will then hit a
plateau and all weight loss will STOP.

Worse yet, when you increase your calories, your body will pack
on MORE fat as a safety measure in case you starve again. So
you'll likely wind up weighing MORE in the long run by using a
low calorie diet.

Low Carb Diets DO NOT Work...

People love low carb diets for the first week or so, because they
see that scale needle dropping. But do you know what they're
losing? Usually water and muscle.

Then reality kicks in. Who can continue to eat nothing but meats
and vegetables, especially when it's making you so tired?

Low carb diets are extremely difficult to stick to. And again,
once you go off the diet, you're likely to gain all the weight
back and then some.

Programs such as Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig are somewhat
better...

These types of programs result in slower weight loss, and some of
them involve buying special meals that are expensive and don't
necessarily taste very good.

While better than the first three types of diets, these diets are
still not the best.

So what's the answer?

An Accelerated Fat Burning Program such as the one found in Fat
Loss For Idiots program...

Visit Fat Loss For Idiots Site

If you're overweight, it's because you've been eating the wrong
foods at the wrong intervals in the wrong patterns.

Sound crazy?

Not all calories are alike. Some foods make you gain weight while
others help you maintain or lose weight.

And it's not just the types of food that you eat that's
important.

It's also WHEN you eat each type of food, and how many times per
day that you eat.

It wasn't lack of exercise that made you overweight. It was the
wrong foods at the wrong times of the day.

If you correct this, you'll lose weight.

And here's where you find out how to do that...

Visit Fat Loss For Idiots Site

This was part 1 of 3 of information from the Fat Loss For Idiots program, one of the most popular information programs online.

P.S. Food is more powerful than any weight loss drug.

That's because the foods you eat have the power to make you fat
or thin.

And just as you gained weight without exercising, you can also
LOSE weight without exercising, if you know what you're doing...

Look at your calendar right now. Count out 11 days from today,
and circle that date.

Using the Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet (found no where else) just 11
Days from today you'll notice a dramatic change in your body...

As I'm inclined to do most of the time, I like to look quickly at the "how to" books and other personal development books, as well the others too. It's a great side benefit of an online bookstore-"tidsbits of knowledge daily based on what other people are voting for with their pocketbooks". The book that got a bit of my attention today was "Super Self-Doubling Your Personal Effectiveness" by Charles Givens. A very nearly new condition hardcover by the way of this 1993 book which is what we try to do to distinguish ourselves in a crowded marketplace. Very good condition used or like new copies. Givens is known for his wealth books and seminars in the 80's and 90's

His Success Strategy No. 1 is worth repeating. Most of us who need personal development and growth have failed at some things or something. We have made many mistakes. To make quantum leaps forward we may have to rely more on the experiences of others who have been successful than learning from the "school of hard knocks" which has been our own life. We keep going back to old methods and habit that repeat our problems and I can say with experience based just on relationships in my past. Or look at your choice of jobs or business activities.

His strategy based on the notion that doing more of what doesn't work won't make it work any better is "Learn From The Experiences Of Other, Rather Than Your Own". This will cut the learning curve time frame and the change curve in your life dramatically, he says, and I tend to agree. Learning the right methods to personal and business effectiveness and having them become formed habits in the shortest possible time, as opposed to the trial and error of our own experiences, is the basis of
the "Super Self" as he calls it.

And with that I carry on with my day. Make one key change in your life today based on what you know or see successful people doing regularly! I concur with Givens, you won't regret it.

Growing Your Loyalty Program

Worth reposting for all those of us in business.

Long-Term Romance: 10 Ways to Lure Customers to Your Loyalty Program

by Steve Webster, Chief Strategy Officer and founder, iPost

Loyalty programs can be your key to high conversion rates. People like to be appreciated for their patronage – especially if you offer them something special first-time or infrequent customers don't get. Following are some simple strategies for turning a one-time customer into a habitual and happy loyalty program spender:

1) Make it easy for them: Structure your program to make joining as simple as possible. Design it so that all of your customers can participate at some level.

2) Make it easy for you: Choose vendors who are flexible and don't just offer technical expertise but also support, so that the ball is never dropped.

3) Add real value to your loyalty program: Consider your costs and ROI, and focus on what's valuable to your customer.

4) Personalize: It costs almost nothing to call your customers by name, but it makes them feel special. It also helps create the impression that your message was expressly intended for the reader.

5) Show them you're paying attention: Turn the data you receive about your customers' interests and preferences into value for them.

6) Get it in front of them: Promote your loyalty program at every customer touch point -- call center, website, etc.

7) Make your loyalty program viral: People like to pass valuable and exciting opportunities on to their friends, so make it easy for your customers to get others to join your loyalty program.

8) Tie your PMS into your loyalty program: Work your unsold inventory into your customer rewards, so that you move that merchandise quickly and effectively.

9) Reward your customers for planning ahead: Check your past history to see what inventory sells slowly or usually needs to be moved, and promote this to customers far in advance at a great rate.

10) Bring effective partnerships into the equation: Sell mini and combination packages that make it easy for customers to purchase not just your merchandise, but complimentary products and services, too.

NTT DoCoMo testing Mobile WiMax and HSDPA handoffs - Rmail

Filed under:

Japan’s NTT DoCoMo just applied for license to launch a Mobile WiMax (802.16e) network for testing. The tests will be conducted over the next year in the Yoyogi area of Tokyo and among other things, check for continuous connectivity handoffs between WiMax and other systems such as their new HSDPA network launching later this year.

After seeing WiMax frequency allocation blocked in Europe last year due to heavy UMTS investment by some of its protectionists manufacturers, it does our cold, jaded hearts good to see this level of cooperation in well-mannered Japan.

Carriers and manufacturers form pact to push mobile Linux - Rmail

Filed under:
Yeah, we've heard it before, but they mean it this time. Carriers Vodafone and NTT DoCoMo have teamed up with Motorola, Samsung, NEC, and Panasonic to succeed where others have failed, busting out a common Linux-based smartphone platform and sharing costs and R&D resources along the way. Besides unifying the fragmented mobile Linux community behind a single open platform, the group's goal is to see the light of day in a production phone before the end of 2007, but let's be honest  -- the project won't be considered a success unless the joint venture can produce a popular, well-known platform that can scrap with the Symbians and the Windows Mobiles of the world. Hey, Access PalmSource, you guys paying attention?

Dish Network Adds More HDTV Programming-Nashville To Get HDTV via Satellite from Dish

DISH Network boosts HD lineup

By Chris Lewis, clewis@nashvillecitypaper.com
February 21, 2006
The trend toward high-definition (HD) television is marching forward in Nashville, with DISH Network’s recent additions of local TV channels to its HD lineup.

EchoStar Communications Corp. officially announced Monday that its satellite TV service added WKRN-Ch. 2 (ABC), WTVF-Ch. 5 (CBS), WSMV-Ch. 4 (NBC), and WZTV-Ch. 17 (FOX) as of last Thursday.

Nashville is one of only five markets in the nation where DISH offers local channels in high definition, joining Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, said Matt Catlin, business development director for DISH’s Southeast region.

“Nashville has been a great market for us in the past. We do have a great customer base here,” he said, noting that the company will expand its local HD channel offerings to 50 cities by the end of the year.

Some Laughs For You Tool Guys and Girls-Sorry No Source Available

Automobile Tool Definitions

Hammer:
Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate expensive car parts not far from the object we are trying to hit.

Mechanic’s Knife:
Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard cartons delivered to your front door; works particularly well on boxes containing convertible tops or tonneau covers.

Electric Hand Drill:
Normally used for spinning steel Pop rivets in their holes until you die of old age, but it also works great for drilling rollbar mounting holes in the floor of a sports car just above the brake line that goes to the rear axle.

Hacksaw:
One of a family of cutting tools built on the Ouija board principle. It transforms human energy into a crooked, unpredictable motion, and the more you attempt to influence its course, the more dismal your future becomes.

Vise-Grips:
Used to round off bolt heads. If nothing else is available, they can also be used to transfer intense welding heat to the palm of your hand.

Oxyacetelene Torch:
Used almost entirely for lighting those stale garage cigarettes you keep hidden in the back of the Whitworth socket drawer (What wife would think to look in _there_?) because you can never remember to buy lighter fluid for the Zippo lighter you got from the PX at Fort Campbell.

Zippo Lighter:
    See oxyacetelene torch.

Whitworth Sockets:
Once used for working on older British cars and motorcycles, they are now used mainly for hiding six-month old Salems from the sort of person who would throw them away for no good reason.

Drill Press:
A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, splattering it against the Rolling Stones poster over the bench grinder.

Wire Wheel:
Cleans rust off old bolts and then throws them somewhere under the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprint whorls and hard-earned guitar callouses in about the time it takes you to say, "Django Reinhardt".

Hydraulic Floor Jack:
Used for lowering a Mustang to the ground after you have installed a set of Ford Motorsports lowered road springs, trappng the jack handle firmly under the front air dam.

Eight-Foot Long Douglas Fir 2X4:
Used for levering a car upward off a hydraulic jack.

Tweezers:
A tool for removing wood splinters.

Phone:
Tool for calling your neighbor Chris to see if he has another hydraulic floor jack.

Snap-On Gasket Scraper:
Theoretically useful as a sandwich tool for spreading mayonnaise; used mainly for getting dog-doo off your boot.

E-Z Out Bolt and Stud Extractor:
A tool that snaps off in bolt holes and is ten times harder than any known drill bit.

Timing Light:
A stroboscopic instrument for illuminating grease buildup on crankshaft pulleys.

Two-Ton Hydraulic Engine Hoist:
A handy tool for testing the tensile strength of ground straps and hydraulic clutch lines you may have forgotten to disconnect.

Craftsman 1/2 x 16-inch Screwdriver:
A large motor mount prying tool that inexplicably has an accurately machined screwdriver tip on the end without the handle.

Battery Electrolyte Tester:
A handy tool for transferring sulfuric acid from car battery to the inside of your toolbox after determining that your battery is dead as a doornail, just as you thought.

Aviation Metal Snips:
    See Hacksaw.

Trouble Light:
The mechanic’s own tanning booth. Sometimes called a drop light, it is a good source of vitamin D, "the sunshine vitamin", which is not otherwise found under cars at night. Health benefits aside, its main purpose is to consume 40-watt light bulbs at about the same rate that 105-mm howitzer shells might be used during, say, the first few hours of the Battle of the Bulge. More often dark than light, its name is somewhat misleading.

Phillips Screwdriver:
Normally used to stab the lids of old-style paper-and-tin oil cans and splash oil on your shirt; can also be used, as the name implies, to round off Phillips screw heads.

Air Compressor:
A machine that takes energy produced in a coal-burning power plant 200 miles away and transforms it into compressed air that travels by hose to a Chicago Pneumatic impact wrench that grips rusty suspension bolts last tightened 40 years ago by someone in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, and rounds them off.

Another Book Gone From The Library (Cont'd)...Jim Morrison bio.

My Library says goodbye to No One Here Gets Out Alive, the biography of Jim Morrison of The Doors that I picked up recently.

This book just went out the door to a fine home in Ontario, Canadao.
No One Here Gets Out Alive . by Jerry Hopkins and Danny Sugerman, Warner Books, 1981. ISBN: 0446939218

Their music sounds as fresh today as it did in the early 70's when it took us all by storm. What a fantastic album debut they had. As popular today as when they first recorded.

Jim Morrison was the master of excess in his life. I noted the quote from Blake that poet Michael McClure used in the afterword; "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom"

Tour Championship and the the Men's Golf Tour New Look for 2007

It's Tour Championship Time For the Best 30 Golfer's on the Men's Tour. The end of the line for this year officially. With not much on the tube to compete with it, it will get a lot of eyeballs this Thursday through Sunday.

The Tour doesn't appear to want to sit still, which I applaud. Golfers will be debating the new mega-championship proposal commissioner Tim Finchem announced yesterday.

Many golfers, no matter what ability level, will be thinking next year, next season. for changes they want to make in their game. This program from one of our blog sponsors Is worth looking at.

Don't wind up divorced and destitute-marriage can be dangerous to your finances

Ok I know this is supposed to be about love and dating. But I've been around a few bends in my life as I'm sure many of you reading this have. Love and lots of it between the couple, but a straight shot of realism is too often missing. From both sides. I know. After the reality check, my mantra becomes, "love hard, make the extra effort as long as possible to make it work, and hope your love never ends".

Here's an excerpt of an article or something similar that should be required reading for all brides-to-be. We need a similar article for men who face financial difficulties as well from divorce. but often for different reasons.

"The worst thing you can do is to ignore money matters while you're married. Here are 9 ways to divorce-proof yourself now.

Editor's note: Columnist MP Dunleavey and eight other women have come together online to strip away the myths surrounding money, lay bare their assets and liberate themselves from debt. Follow the quest for financial fabulousness of these "Women in Red" every second Monday in Dunleavey's column on MSN Money.

Most women get married believing their marriage will last "until death do us part," not "until he departs, taking all the money."

Yet the reality is that women are far more likely than men to suffer financially when their marriage unravels. According to the National Marriage Project at Rutgers University, a woman's standard of living will drop by as much as 27% -- compared to 10% for men -- after a divorce.

While this may not be true for all divorced women, a grimmer picture does lie in wait for a specific group of women who:
Have stayed home with the kids

Are approaching middle age with rusty career skills

Let their mates handle most or all of the household finances

Thought they could count on their husband's income, savings and retirement to protect them -- and suddenly they can't.

While divorce is hard at any age, for women nearing midlife whose time and energy has gone into their families -- not themselves -- it's particularly important to shore up financial positions before a crisis strikes."

Good information about calculating the precise point at which the signal strength should theoretically be highest with your dish.  Thus, placing your lnbf at that point.
Al7bar .tk FTA Satellite Television Community, Audio/Video and more! - c-band dish
focal lenght Al7bar .tk FTA Satellite Television Community, Audio/Video and more! - c-band dish focal length

Formulas for calculating focal distance and f/D ratios To calculate the focal distance, you have to measure the diameter (D) and the depth (d) of the dish. Measurements should be in like units (you can't use feet for the diameter and inches for depth). For the example, we will say we have a dish that is 120 inches in diameter (D) and 18 inches deep (d).focal distance (f) equals the diameter squared (D x D) divided by 16 times the depth (16 x d) or :
D x D = 120 x 120 = 14400 16 x d = 16 x 18 = 288 D x D/16 x d = 14400/288 = 50
focal distance f = 50 inches
After you have calculated the focal distance (f), you can use that figure to calculate the f/D ratio of your dish. In this case, using the same diameter (D) = 120; and the calculated focal distance (f) = 50
f / D = 50 / 120 = .416 f /D = .416 which you would round up to give you a setting of .42
The list below shows how far the throat is out from the scalar rings for different f/D settings. EXAMPLE: A dish with a .42 f/D will have the throat about flush with the rings.
Inches -- f/D .12 ------ .42 .32 ------ .40 .52 ------ .38 .72 ------ .36 .92 ------ .34 1.12 ---- .32

I've been playing around with and old Cband 50 inch dish that actually got pretty reception in the analog days.  The need to see the Atlanta Braves on G5 in the mid '80's up in Canada, got me started.  Scanning the skys for wildfeeds was a great hobby at the time.  Now with digital trying to use it most effectively for the various unencrypted digital feeds available.  Many online are talking about cband hd on a small dish such as 50 inch.  My conclusion so far is that I'll need a much better LBNF or perhaps a dual cband/ku one.  I'll post my investigations soon.

Check the Satcruiser receiver out, one of their models has 36 V positioner and it is analog and digital C/KU band. It offers every feature you could ask for. Since you don't need the "nagravision stuff" this, I think, is the perfect receiver for you. It also has a CI interface and capacity for 4000 channels digital and 500 analog channels. I don't own one but I've heard that they're very good receivers. The receiver model is Satcruiser DSP 2040 ACE/DSR-401 P ACE Just search for it in google and you'll find it. The price is very good too. Good luck.

The Winnipeg
Free Press - front
This is the fishing article I noticed today and referred to in an earlier post.  I heard the same stuff on a fishing show on CJOB radio last night while working so the buzz is getting around for certain.  Search for "Cats on the Red", Stu McKay, if you're reading this and are interested in coming up here.  Or just search for Manitoba Tourism.
The Winnipeg Free Press - front
Manitoba walleye hook U.S. anglers Thu Oct 27 2005
EAST SELKIRK -- The best greenback walleye fishing seen in years in this area is luring plenty of greenbacks -- the American dollar version. Yesterday under beautiful blue skies, warm temperatures and no wind, anglers on boats and on shore were reporting trophy size catches of walleye -- Most Manitobans call them pickerel -- just by dipping their lines in the water of the Red River for several kilometres on both sides of this community. "The fishing here is just wonderful," said American angler Larry Tish, who came all the way from Cheyenne, Wyoming, to drop a line in the water.
"It's just great right now," he said as he leaned back in his boat, waiting for the next nibble. "The other day I got five walleye which were over 27 inches. It was probably my best day of fresh water fishing ever. One was probably 31 inches and weighed 14 pounds.

"I told a friend of mine that day is something people dream about." From the last week of September to roughly the last week of October, the walleye which have spent the summer in Lake Winnipeg swim up the Red River following their food source. Unlike walleye elsewhere, these fish, from living and eating in Lake Winnipeg, pick up a distinctive translucent green tinge on their backs seen nowhere else, giving them the nickname greenbacks. Tish said he's not the only American up on the Red River trying to land this year's not-so-elusive trophy sized walleye. He has bumped into compatriates from Arizona, Montana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North and South Dakota.
"This is the best walleye fishing I've ever been at, bar none."

Fishing in the West goes to a new home. Fishing for Walleye in Manitoba's Red River fabulous right now.

My Library looses Fishing in the West-A Guide to Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, by David Carpenter, a signed by author copy even. Now that I'm thinking fishing, I'll post an article from the local Winnipeg paper later which I saw today quoting the American fisherman who come up here, describing current walleye fishing on the Red River as the best ever.

This book just went out the door to a fine home in New Brunswick so I'm thinking it may be a gift first published: 1984, Where to fish, species of the region, technique, accomodation, preparing the catch, etc. ISBN: 0888331290

It's worth checking out the fishing and hunting in the three prairie provinces in Canada and even further north if you want to fly in. We'll post some recommendations soon. More reviews of other fishing and wildlife books will be coming as well. Suggest your favorite books in the Comments or send email to me.

I'm a novice horseplayer for the past couple years after a chance trip to the track on a date...and thoroughly enjoying it.   The education they plan to do to help educate the potential betting public caught my public relations/marketing communications professional eye.  If you want to sell, be prepared to educate first, most times.
We went to a seminar the Downs held this summer and caught the fever.  $10 each for a seminar and nice meal on a Friday evening, with a hot date, and a chance to bet on the races with a bunch of expert horse players all around you....it didn't get any better than that....at that moment in time.  Now we've got a chance to win the same amounts as others by getting into the pools directly.  I may have to get the cable or satellite horse racing channel back earlier than the start of our next spring- summer season here, next year.  Horse racing may be the next poker...oh well, not likely but it should be.

Downs hopes new rules attract fresh bettors Wed Oct 26 2005 By Paul Wiecek

MANAGEMENT at Assiniboia Downs yesterday unveiled an ambitious new project to turn some Manitobans into millionaires.
And they plan to do it with New Yorkers' money.
Downs operations director Darren Dunn told a news conference at the Portage Avenue thoroughbred track that a change in the way Canadians bet on horse racing in the U.S. has the potential to generate huge -- possibly unprecedented -- payoffs for Manitoba horseplayers. And Dunn said management at the non-profit track is determined to teach its customers how to go get all that new money with a series of betting seminars with top local horse players, an online seminar that is coming soon to the Downs website and an aggressive recruitment drive aimed at teaching new horse players how to get in on the action.
"We're on a mission," Dunn said. "We're going to make Manitobans the highest rated, best handicappers in the world."

And the mission starts immediately, with Saturday's Breeders' Cup -- the world championships of horse racing -- providing the first big opportunity for Manitobans to cash in on a rule change that, beginning today, will allow bettors here to wager directly into the pools at New York tracks, including Belmont Park, host of this year's Breeders Cup.

Sometimes it's just about making a bit more of an effort if your heart is in the right place

This is a post I made about two weeks that I posted to one of my website. I've decided I'd like to share the message more widely.

Last week, I gave blood, took part in the Terry Fox Run raising money for cancer research, and also the Rock for Relief fundraiser by the Canadian Red Cross/92 Citi Fm and Two Small Guys with Big Hearts Trucking raising money for Hurricane Katrina relief. A couple of quarters for a panhandler, a few more bucks here and there for other causes that approached, and lot of thinking about making a difference. Who is this masked man, others asked? The World's Rearranger (thank you Robert Plant)

A funeral for a fine young man, Dustin Hickie, 16, a close friend of my daughter, touched me deeply. Why is the answer to cancer's ravages still so elusive? There is so much more I can do in my life on earth to help others, even a bit, and I knew my effort had been weak at best so far.

So I gave myself a kick in the pants with the help of Dustin and my friend Del and my father and others who have gone before. But it still begs the questions, why does it often take someone leaving this world to get us to act? Why are we so insulated? How can we, as individuals, act against the pain and suffering, hunger and illness without turning ourselves inside out again and again with feelings of hopelessness and helplessness? How can we stop the tears for a while and see the lights of hope again?

The opportunities to to make a difference will appear, if we keep our eyes and ears open and we find out what touches us personally. What brings tears to our eyes and sobs to our chest? Or just get involved. What is the first thing we think of in the morning...the last thing at night. Your passion for these things will keep you coming back.

It took the death of a young man I didn't know well, but I liked, far too early in life, to give me better focus. Other events had hurt but did not have that effect. In this way he lives on with me and my daughter. You will find inspiration in your life to make a difference if you look.

I can do more! I hope you can to.

How To Shoot Like The Pros? What's Your Plan To Improve Your Golf Game This Season?

Pebble Beach is this week. I love that tournament. Bill Murray is usually the star of the show on Saturday. Then comes the golf test on Sunday. The golf season is well underway. Winter is coming to an end soon. More and more folks are starting to think about how they are going to get their golf game in shape this season. There are many resources available to you. The key I've always felt is to practise regularly and to adopt a system for your play and practise. I may have mentioned this previously but I just received a note from Jack Moorehouse, who has a best selling golf ebook, "How to Break 80...And Shoot Like the Pros." He says the price will go up soon, but in the meantime you can get a special bonus that seems right on target for most of us and appropriate to what I said early about a practice system: "25 Lessons To Improve Your Game Immediately' plus more. The book also has got a 90 day guarantee he says. (We are a marketing partner of Jack's just so it's clear). Click here to see the How to Break 80 book offer . As I said before, my advice is to find a system or method and/or teacher that you will trust fully to get your game to the next level. What books, teachers or teaching methods have you found useful in the past? Let us know in the comments.

So when someone dropped me a note and said there's a simple way to make money by looking to another blog, in a moment with nothing to do, (probably after the Super Bowl) I took a look at the site.

The InstantGuru Blog, by Allan Says was surprising enough in that I actually found several articles waiting that I deemed useful material. Says, who is well known online for his work with a membership site, The Internet Marketing Warriors, has come up with a viral way to get his blog known in short order, get tons of backlinks for search engine food and additionally give financial incentives to link to him.

So for that I say well done and a strategy well thought out. If you're like me, looking for good ideas, and always open to new ways to use internet tools such as weblogs and generate income online and offline, you should take a look too.

Here's a sample of some recent posts taken from his site's RSS feed, which you can subscribe to at his site.

What's Your Recruiting IQ?

Can you answer these questions about athletic scholarships and recruiting? You may know someone in or outside our family who is hoping to play university sports and receive a quality education. Pass this link on to them.

I represent the College Prospects organization (http://www.cpoa.com), have for over 13 years, and they have forwarded some questions that they find most student-athletes and parents can't really answer properly.
_________________________________
What is your recruiting IQ?

Are you on the recruiting lists of college coaches? Even if you are, where do you rate? Are you the #1 choice? #10? #25?

What is an EFC; what does it mean to your family and how do coaches use that information to determine how much financial aid the student-athlete may receive?

Division III schools can't give athletic scholarships. How, then, are athletes attending these schools and playing sports at greatly reduced costs?

Do you understand the seven steps of the Recruiting Funnel and the role of the student-athlete?

What are the two main reasons why talented student-athletes are not recruited?
_______________________________________________________________

Understand: If you're not receiving multiple phone calls from college coaches March or May (depending on your sport) of your Junior year, you run the risk of not being recruited.

The journey to being seriously recruited by college coaches starts here. For nearly 20 years, College Prospects of America has helped thousands of talented student-athletes from all over the world receive scholarship and financial aid monies from coaches who, in many cases, had no idea these athletes existed. Thousands of superior athletes have been and will continue to be overlooked because parents and students do not act proactively to ensure that coaches know about them.

To get answers to the questions please visit the main College Prospects website , then go to their video presentations you can view on site, or contact me directly:
