We’re starting some bucket testing now, which might mean a few of you get a different experience on our site. Bucket testing is a research tool where we give a small sample of our users an updated version of our site. By measuring a few metrics across the sample set, we’ll be able to gauge whether our updates had the expected effect.
If that’s confirmed, we release the updates to the site. If it isn’t, we go back to the lab and tweak the updates.
What it means for you in the long run is a better site. But in the short run, some of you might be exposed to new features. And if you use multiple computers to access our site, you might only notice those features on one of the machines.
Just wanted to give you a heads up, in case you noticed a new navigation bar or a new article presentation. Yeah. The cat’s out of the bag.
